Neida Pearson is the latest member of the East Durham Artists Network
group to display her work in The Greenfield Gallery and what a wonderful
display it is. Her exhibition ‘World within a World’, is running all through October
and shows an exploration into
another world, one that only exists in her imagination. Her studies of
colour and pattern have become the language of her paintings leaving the viewer
to the task of translation. This exhibition is perfect for those who enjoy
artwork which adds dimension to everyday life and really asks the question “Who
are we?” and “Where do we come from?” Neida uses pen, ink, watercolour and
gouache, to create some truly wonderful effects. Visitors to the preview were
enlightened to hear about the things which inspire her and why she works with
specific styles and genres.
As we look towards the end of our 2017 programme, we are still welcoming applications from potential stall holders for our 2017 Winter Market, which will accompany this year’s group art exhibition by Interface Arts in December. The event will be held on Saturday 2nd December and will run from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm. Applications will close on Friday 27th October 2017. The event will host professional artists and crafters, showcasing handmade, or hand designed items, gifts or artworks, as well as artisan food items. We see this as a wonderful opportunity to highlight the talent and creativity of our local crafters and artists, with a chance for some Christmas shopping for those who attend the event. If you are happy to demonstrate your craft at your table as well this would be a plus! Tables will cost £10.00, for further information or to request a booking form please see the ‘Gallery’ section of our website or contact us.
