On Monday February 6th, JJ Jegede, English Long Jump champion, came into school to work with the year 8s. His visit coincided with an initiative that Greenfield Community College have signed up for the second consecutive year that uses sport as a tool to motivate and inspire 11-16 year olds. He led an assembly on inspiration and dreams. He then worked with a group of select pupils from 8GBV Period 1 & 2. The pupils who were involved had a fantastic day involving theoretical and practical activities, whereby working to realise JJ’s “six keys to success”; mental toughness, hunger to achieve, people skills, sports and life knowledge, breaking barriers and planning for success. JJ hopes to go and win an Olympic Gold for Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics.
