Congratulations to the Blue House team who completed the ‘Great Greenfield Run’ during November. Joe Nicholson (10B) approached Mr Butterworth with an initial idea of completing a run by himself for Help for Heroes, however, after a brief chat we decided to change the format and open the event to other pupils. The event took place over the course of the academic week and consisted of the pupils running a half marathon or a half-half marathon in that time. It really was a massive achievement from the group of 20 pupils and Mr Butterworth who gave up break, lunch times and time after school to complete the allocated miles. The pupils were a real credit to themselves and their house during the week and showed real determination, endeavour and commitment in order to get the 13.1 miles or 6.55 miles completed. A special mention must go to Temps Martin who was the only girl to complete the full half marathon. She was there, without fail, at every opportunity to complete the run. Help for Heroes is a charity close to her heart and this reflected upon her attitude towards the event during the week. Well done! The amount raised so far has reached £245 and is still growing.
